Guide to Selfie Sticks and Their Promotional Use

• Selfie sticks that come without any remote triggering function, and you use the self-timer on your mobile phone.  While less expensive, it is harder to take multiple shots.
• Sticks that come with a detached handheld Bluetooth remote.

The most reliable type are typically the Bluetooth models but these do require a charge and can run out of battery.  The selfie sticks with the built-in Bluetooth will typically have a USB port to charge the built-in Lithium-ion battery to trigger the remote.  These are the more pricey models and are preferred by many.

The Remote type of selfie stick do not typically require a battery and use the audio jack on your mobile phone to work.  In the past, these were less reliable but the newer iPhones and Android devices support this type of setup and most of the past problems have been resolved, thus making them quite reliable with modern phones.  If you have a modern mobile phone, this is a very reliable method that will not quit from a dead battery within the selfie stick.

The basic model simply relies on a self-timer built into your mobile device.  This is quite reliable but can be unspontaneous as you have to wait for the timer to work.

The Bluetooth that uses a handheld Bluetooth device is becoming more popular as long as you keep track of the remote (similar to a car remote keychain) and keep it charged.  Additionally, you can use this remote to setup the mobile device with or without a selfie stick.
